Together We Can: Local awareness events in Germany – the journey continues

To put a spotlight on the issue of education, training and labour market access for migrant women living in rural areas, 2 local events took place in Germany in June 2025. On June 18th, 21 experts discussed the outcomes of the Together We Can project in the City of Nienburg. Evidence was given on the successful local implementation of the training programme in the County of Nienburg, and an outlook on future activities, since there will be a Together We Can follow-up project starting in July. On June 25th, 13 experts met in the City of Syke. The project results were presented, and perspectives to create a follow-up project in the County of Diepholz were discussed. Altogether, representatives from 18 different organisations (NGOs, training centres, local authorities, federal authorities) took part in the 2 events, including representatives from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (Bundesamt für Migration und Flüchtlinge, BAMF). All in all, it can be stated that the journey of Together We Can will not be ending on June 30th, 2025, with the transnational partnership project funded under the Erasmus+ programme: the best is yet to come, when local initiatives and authorities create new opportunities for migrant women in rural areas based on the Together We Can approach.
