“Junt@s por Tod@s” celebrates the closing of Together We Can and inaugurates new community space in Porto
On 5 June 2025, the European project Together We Can marked the end of its implementation with a special event entitled “Junt@s por Tod@s”, bringing together participants from diverse backgrounds, professions and generations at the newly inaugurated Casa da Pertença, in Paranhos – Porto.
The event aimed to celebrate diversity, promote active inclusion, and give visibility to the work developed over the past 30 months with migrant women living in rural areas, as part of this Erasmus+ initiative.
The morning began with a warm welcome from Filipa Luz and Fernanda Curi, who presented Casa da Pertença – a new community space designed to foster belonging, dialogue and inclusive citizenship. This was followed by a presentation of the main results and methodologies from the Together We Can project, with a focus on the training programme developed with migrant women and the tools created to assess the impact of local empowerment initiatives.
The event also featured discussions around strategies to support inclusion and empowerment of underrepresented groups, and the importance of building spaces where everyone feels welcome – regardless of origin, beliefs, gender or ability.
In the afternoon, the atmosphere shifted into celebration. Participants enjoyed a multicultural shared lunch, took part in artistic and musical activities, and co-created a collective mural featuring key words that reflect the values of justice, community and acceptance.
The strong turnout and positive feedback confirmed the value of creating moments for dialogue, creativity and shared reflection, which can lay the foundation for new partnerships and social transformation.
