“Unite for Change”: International Webinar of the Together We Can Project on Education and Employment for Migrant Women

The International Online Webinar UNITE FOR CHANGE, organized as part of the Erasmus Plus Together We Can project, has just concluded with great success.

The work was introduced by Dr. Tino Boubaris of VNB – Verein Niedersächsischer Bildungsinitiativen e.V, the German lead partner, and by Dr. Valeria Lavano of EXEO LAB from Italy.

The event saw active participation from expert speakers and stakeholders from various European countries, who engaged in discussions about education and employment opportunities for migrant women.

During the webinar, participants delved deeply into the issue of empowering migrant women in rural areas so they can actively lead initiatives within their communities.

This project aims to create positive change and a lasting impact on local communities by establishing networks among businesses, community leaders, public institutions, and educational actors. Promoting inclusion and autonomy for these women means enabling them to become active participants in the labor market and educational context.

International speakers who contributed to the discussion included: Maria Al-Mahayni, Legal Consultant for the organization ZARA – Civil Courage & Anti-Racism-Work from Austria; Dr. Tobias Weidinger from the Department of Geography and Geological Sciences at the University of Nuremberg, author of the EMILIE research project on the voluntary engagement of migrant women in rural Germany; Dr. Maria Raffaella Tucci from Italy, a specialist in active labor market policies addressing gaps; Irene Che from Cyprus, Cultural Mediator and Project Officer at SYNTHESIS Center for Research & Education; and Dr. Ana Luísa Martinho, professor in Social Sciences at ISCAPP/Polytechnic of Porto and researcher at CEOS – Center for Organizational and Social Studies of the Polytechnic of Porto, representing Portugal.
